Originally from Chicago, I moved to the DC area in 2005 to pursue my PhD in Clinical Psychology at The George Washington University (GW). During my journey to become a psychologist, I also took some time to become a wife and mother - 2 kids & 3 fur-kids. As a working-parent and partner, I can relate to many issues that arise for my individual clients and couples.
Following the completion of my APA-accredited internship at George Mason University’s Counseling and Psychological Services Center, I joined the well-established group practice of Guttman & Pearl Associates, and worked in both their North Bethesda, MD and Washington, DC offices. At Guttman & Pearl, I began specializing in couples and sex therapy, while continuing to work with individual clients on issues such as depression, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
In addition to my clinical experience, I worked on several research studies about relationships and families during my doctoral training. For example, I conducted original research exploring communication about sex within families, and contributed to research aimed at improving co-parenting relationships funded by the National Institute of Mental Health.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with family & friends, exploring nature, adult coloring books, and date nights with my husband.
